Uncontrolled electrostatic charges are always undesirable and can impede the efficiency of manufacturing processes. On the other hand, controlled electrostatic charges – purposely applied – improve manufacturing efficiency by using electrostatic properties to accomplish something beneficial in the process.
Eltex charging systems are used when products are to be “electrostatically adhered” to each other for a limited period of time in order to improve a production process. An example from the printing industry is the edge-precise blocking of the paper ribbons in the finishing process.
Optimizing processes with IML
In the plastics industry, for example, in-mould labelling (IML) makes a significant contribution to process optimization: Electrostatic charging causes the decor or label to adhere in an injection mould.
Charging bars
Heavy-duty and precise bars for targeted charging
The charging bars transfer the generated static charge to the product. Depending on the material to be charged and the installation situation, different types of bars are used: R130 for working widths of up to 4 meters, R120 for narrow spaces and the R23ATR for precise charging of small surfaces.
Compact Charging Bar
An universal bar with minimal dimensions for supply voltages up to 60 kV. It is used to charge surfaces for blocking and tacking purposes.Max. length: 3985 mm
Proven high-performance charging bar
Heavy-duty precision bar for supply voltages up to 60 kV.The charge and field distribution have been substantially improved by the optimized arrangement of the individual bars. Separate current-limited tips prevent an increase in air ionization and high-energy brush discharges. Max. length: 3985 mm
Point Charging Bar
Target-specific application of the required charge through the adjustable geometry of the charging points. This arrangement is needed, for instance, for tacking small surfaces (labels) using electrostatic power. Suitable for edge zone fixing during film and foil production.

Universally usable power supplys for Eltex charging bars.
The charging generators provide the DC voltage required for the application. Eltex offers powerful generators with 30 or 60 kV voltage and up to 7.5 mA output current.
The new POWER CHARGER units cover various performance stages and charging applications. They can be operated either with a supply voltage of 24 V DC or a line voltage in the range of 85 V – 264 V AC. The output voltage is 75 or 150 watts. A membrane keyboard or an optionally available, integrated touch panel is used to control the generators. POWER CHARGER units can be operated using analog operation or via digital Fieldbus interfaces.
The versatile EXTRA’s distributors PCV / PCV6 and extension cables KA simplify the laying and installation of the Eltex charging components.
